Tuesday February 5, 2:53 pm ET

NATCHEZ, MS--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 5, 2008 -- Sustainable Power Corp. (Other OTCSTP.PK - News) today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Haytian Tractor & Equipment Co. S.A. ("HayTrac") located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The MOU is designed to produce Vertroleum(TM) green bio fuels that meet all ASTM specifications, including biocrude, biogasoline, jet fuel, marine fuel and other biofuels to be used in the generation of 24 megawatts of power.

HayTrac, lead by President Reynold Bonnefile, is the only distributor of Caterpillar Tractors in Haiti and has been in the electricity business for 58 years. Carrying a high reputation in the industry for quality, service, and reliability, Mr. Bonnefile will distribute power in two cities; Les Cayes and Petit-Goave. Mr. Bonnefile stated, "I wholly welcome this joint venture which will start in the south of Haiti. It will contribute to improving the standard of living of Haitians, especially with the current price of petroleum being as high as it is today." Scott Hoerr, Director of SSTP added, "Working with Haiti broadens our growing exposure in the Caribbean, spreading our green technology where to regions where it is most needed."

In Phase One, Sustainable Power will install, and train in the operation of, 20 bio crude reactors. SSTP will most likely start with a well known feedstock that grows fast and easy in Haiti named Jatropha, then will ultimately use other feedstocks including Algae. HayTrac will remain 10% owner of the Joint Venture for all endeavors in Haiti.

Two US$30M plants to produce ethanol from biomass in Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO. – The recently incorporated company Bio E Group announced the construction, together with other foreign investors, of two distilleries at a cost of US$300 million, to produce from biomass 35 million gallons of ethanol and 30 megawatts of energy each per year.

The plants will be located in the townships Bayaguana, Monte Plata province (east) and Quisqueya, San Pedro province (east).

Bio E Group president Alfonso Fermín Balcácer said the two companies will generate an estimated RD$900 million per year in the zones where they’ll operate.

In the press conference, organized by the National Energy Commission (CNE), Balcácer said the projects will provide 12,000 direct jobs.

He said the international companies Tomsa Destil and Biotech will share owner ship in the distilleries, and which according to Balcácer have more than 100 years experience in ethanol production and 400 plants around the world.

For his part, CNE president Arístides Fernandez Zucco said although the Government promotes the projects, it will not participate in them.

Joint venture to build 20 biocrude reactors in Haiti to supply power and fuel to energy-strapped country

In Haiti, Haytian Tractor & Equipment has signed an agreement with Sustainable Power Corporation to install 20 bio crude reactors and supply power and fuel in Les Cayes and Petit-Groave.

Haytian Tractor & Equipment Co. S.A. (“ HayTrac”), which will own 10 percent of the joint venture, said that it expects to use jatropha produced in Haiti to produce the bio crude, and expects ultimately to expand to include algae as a feedstock.

Sustainable Power has licensed the “Rivera process”, developed by US Sustainable Energy, for the production of biocrude. Amspec Senior VP Jim Ford, who serves on the board of the Americas Committee of the International Federation of Inspection Agencies, has recently joined the board of Sustainable Power.

US Sustainable Energy has been successfully testing up to 1,000 gallons per day of soybean-based bio-crude production at its Baytown, TX facility. on a production line with a 3 Mgy capacity. The fuels will be certified at an on-site facility by Amspec.
The biocrude producer is also awaiting lab results from a test of biocrude production using 20 pounds of algae as a feedstock, and is reportedly in discussions with a variety of potenial algae suppliers.

Haiti is home to Jatropha Pepinye program in Terrier Rouge, Haiti, which has aimed to encourage jatropha cultivation as a means of stabilizing incomes and reducing deforestation caused by the use of firewood and charcoal for fuel. More than 70 percent of the island has a “high” erosion risk due to deforestation.
“It has the potential, because it can be grown virtually anywhere, of creating a really positive economic impact in rural Haiti,” said Kathleen Robbins, a Haitian development promoter. Robbins said that jatropha could become a cash crop for Haitian exports, or supply electricity locally for communities which are not part of the electric grid.

“The nursery expects to begin producing high quality jatropha seedlings in time for the beginning of the rainy season in NE Haiti next spring,” said Robbins. “Also, as part of the mission of Jatropha Pepinye (JP), JP will be providing training and support to a local farmers cooperative, the Petit Planters of Terrier Rouge in conjunction with a local agronomy school along other interested farmers in the area.” The project’s jatropha nursery is located next to the UN and agriculture school.
The Jatropha Pepinye team is projecting yields of up to 12.50 metric tonnes of jatropha per hectare in wet or irrigated areas of the island, after the plants have had time to mature. First harvest yield are projected at 0.1-0.4 tonnes per hectare in dry areas and 0.75 - 2.5 metric tonnes per hectare in wet or irrigated areas.
The multi-year maturation process for jatropha seedlings is a barrier for local growers, who will likely produce vegetable crops side by side during the jatropha maturation process.

Re:More News from DR - 2008/02/12 11:53 am NEWS!: SSTP-FSEINT Execute

Sustainable Power Corp. and Farmers Sustainable Energy International Execute Definitive Joint Venture Agreement
Tuesday February 12, 11:23 am ET

Sustainable Power Corp. Receives Additional $100,000 Deposit

NATCHEZ, MS--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 12, 2008 -- Sustainable Power Corp. (Other OTCSTP.PK - News) today announced it has signed a definitive Joint Venture agreement and it has received an additional $100,000 from Farmers Sustainable Energy International (FSEINT) located in Quincy, Illinois. The entities had previously executed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") announced on December 11, 2007 http://www.sstp.us/news-58.html. As previously disclosed, the MOU between SSTP and FSEINT was to form a joint venture for the purpose of the conversion of feedstock to a variety of Green-based products. SSTP had previously received the initial $200,000 deposit of the $2,000,000 that was required to implement the initial terms of the agreement.

Scott Hoerr, Director of Sustainable Power Corp., stated, "We are excited to move forward with Sustainable Power Corp. We at Farmers Sustainable Energy International will begin to take a greater international role in helping farmers in foreign countries by supplying them and helping them apply modern feedstock farming techniques to the crops they currently produce. Our Baytown, TX facility was recently visited by Parlacen President Julio Gonzales Gamarra and H.D. Fernando Luna Waldheim from the department of engineering of Central American Parliament. We will be working with them closely in the weeks ahead to move our project to a bigger scale."

SSTP has now received a total of $300,000 from FSEINT and is working to fulfill the initial terms of the agreement, which calls for 2 reactors and 10 SSTP biodiesel reactors to be shipped to a Northern Illinois facility that FSEINT will provide for the joint venture. Furthermore, upon start-up of the initial biogasoline reactor, the agreement provides that FSEINT will advance the remaining $1,700,000 for further implementation of the agreement. FSEINT's responsibility is securing the necessary feedstocks from its own relationships, procuring government grants and further promoting the business of the joint venture.

The joint venture has being established to leverage FSEINT farmers' crops to obtain the maximum dollar per acre utilizing principal harvest products and recycled non-food grade spoilage, stover and residues as feedstock for SSTP's conversion into a variety of Green-based products. In order to maximize the various feed stocks, FSEINT will provide SSTP with both land and facilities for the production of cellulosic and non-cellulosic biofuels and Biogasoline, green-based organic fertilizers and soil treatments.

It makes me confident that JR is doing his very best to to make YOUR, MY and HIS DREAMS COME TRUE.

The West side expansion is where the end of the building is removed. It is the planned expansion of the Reactor Bay that will continue to the west as far as needed with the new reactors arranged in a side by side (N to S) manner.
I really want to be there in March and again in May. BJ

Re:New Baytown Pictures - 2008/02/12 07:31 pm Unfortunately, They are hosting the pics on a very poor websevice called "neptune"

Neptune requires active X controls, also known as "Active Virus controls"

There is very good reason why Firefox and Opera do not support its use.

Re:USSE Co-Sponsors Algae Networking Forum - 2008/02/29 04:58 pm I believe that there should be a deluge of persons buying up this stock in light of the above information and the fact that our President stated, yesterday in his press conference, that it should only take finding a material to use to make "green fuels" that will not effect the costs of our own natural resources to sustain our food, grain, and feed supplies to help our economy in a number of ways.

Okay people, wake up! This is it! For once the dude makes sense, don't blow it and leave it to the money mongers to find a way to keep us completely out of it! Small cappers unite!
ETC. ETC.

So why did USSE close down almost 8%???
I don't want to own the world...just the part that pays off.
