Re:true growth - 2008/06/18 01:48 pm I think they are growing for the long haul. The company owned stores are opening between the franchised ones so profit comes in on the sheets as they grow. The way they are creating a central bakery/distribution center in the heavier markets is also key. Less gas used to stock the stores. The acceptance of franchisees with many store developments instead of 1 or 2 shows future growth and revenue potential. I just really like how they are managing the growth.

go SPKL!

Re:true growth - 2008/06/19 01:39 pm I put SPKL on my watch list about a month ago, looks like a long hold to me. (I'm no expert in trading, just enjoy playing around...) Any thoughts on them since this forum doesn't have a lot of activity?

I'm going to Denver next week and plan on eating there if time/wife/kids allow it.

Re:true growth - 2008/08/30 07:57 pm I felt bad for SPKL, figured she needed one post for the entire month of August.

Re:true growth - 2008/09/17 07:06 pm Hey, just came back from a continuing legal seminar at University of Cincinnati, and ate at a Spicy Pickle. $8.84 which included tax for eating it there. Nice hoagy, called The Wiseguy, which to means a footsoldier in the mob. Included was a 1 ounce bag of classic chips, and a small beverage. They are essentially pricing themselves in between Arby's (next door) and a tolerable sit-down conventional restaurant on their other side.
Something cool was that if I filled out and turned in the card at the same time (not by mail) I will get a free hoagy coupon on my birthday, potentially for life. With the power from the windstorm constituting the last gasp of hurricane Ike having my pwer at home still out (since last Sunday afternoon), it was a good experience. JunkyardDog
