Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 01:32 pm Someone said earlier that we should not be considered a serious stock discussion thread because of what we choose to while our time away with.I beg to differ.I feel that we are no less academic about stock substances than SWVC or WNBD.When I look at their pages I find many pictures of scantily clad women, dogs with rockets up their asses, all types of cartoon characters & etc, etc.Seems we are being labeled according to how a few peoples opinion percieve our thread. If you want something done right,do it yourself. If you cant do it yourself, either do without or get used to mediocracy.

Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 02:17 pm Ive been watching the situation with Freddie & Fannie. The more I watch the more Im beginning to think other than use of FDIC depositor guarantees they should take their lumps. The people that screw with depositors trust should be taught a lesson by losing they own money also,When they fail the speculative appreciation will seek its true level. It will cause much hardship for a while, but in the long term will make the economy stronger when it does come out of the recession.Since its considered unethical to help the poor people.then its certainly wrong to bail out the affluent people that got in trouble being greedy. They gambled.they should not have their money refunded by the poor who did not get the benefit of this gamble.Let them eat their own losses. Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 02:31 pm I have asked this question before and still have not received an answer. Does anyone here know when the DVDs for PASO are to be mailed out? They were supposed to mail out thousands of them. Maybe that is why the stock has not gone up.

The healthy banks will feed on their bones and that will be the end of a quazigovernmental dominance of the mortgage market. Pain now will be gain later.

We`re both on the same page here.Im also against bailing out detroit at this time.Maybe its time we dont have a big 3.A big one making a profit is better than 3 losing money. Our wages need restructured. The per hour & Salaries of execs are way to high.We need to take prices down & become competitive in the global market. If every thing is scaled back by 50% at once it will put us in a much better position, without giving hardly anything up.If earning are scaled down & retail items are scaled down at the same time we should not have to give up much. The unions should exist, but need their wings trimmed.

We should have no sacred cows.As long as tax payers bail thesae guys out they will ignore good business practices in favor of having speculative natures.Make them responsible for their own decissions.Lord knows these CEO make enough money to act in a more responsible manner.

Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 03:05 pm Detroit auto makers don't deserve a bail out ...

Watched a Ford TV commercial yesterday where talked about the quality of their vehicle and said, "Ford's quality is now as good as Toyota"... lol

Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 03:07 pm We have inflated wages & prices of consumer goods. They should be set according to what one hours wages affords you.If you can buy the same amount of bread for instance for $3 as you can if your making $7 who is the winner. Not the consumer or retailer.Only one that wins here is the tax people. We lose more to taxes at the same time making our products to high to sell in other countries. They didnt finish the sentences. It should also have said ,but we use 35% more fuel & will go 200K miles compare to 3to400K for a toyota or honda. But some stupid americans will believe that crap, because its American& American has to be best.Wave the flag at this point. That will prove it.Dopes!

We could tie so many of our ills to taxes and, of course, spending. I am getting more and more interested in the "FAIR TAX" concept. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE FLAT TAX.

I agree.Flat tax doesn`t work. The same people still pay the disproportionate lions share. The rich still dont get taxed any more because they are not going to spend proportionate to the earnings.Just because he earns twice as much doesn`t mean he spend twice or three times as much.

Re:BLLB--Open Line Friday - 2008/08/22 03:32 pm Now that they deregulated banking in the 80s & they have since stole the treasury the fed says we need new banking structure. We knew if we left the fox unattended in the hen house he would steal. Now we shall close the door. But before we turn the lights out they should locate the stashes that have been taken by some on the inside.Surely there are many if they start looking. This was crooked from the start.
