It isn't so much the content of your ideas that offends but the caustic tenor of your delivery. I read the same swill, every day, at "move on", "the daily kos" and other hate mongering liberal web sites. The difference, there, is that it isn't directed at me specifically.
"Conservative talk", as an industry, is highly rated for viewership. It is out there, in public, open to a forum of rebuttal. "Liberal talk" has failed repeatedly with it's inability to state a case. The fact is, far left spew doesn't have a following and doesn't defend well in the sunlight. The far left thrives under the protection of "on line" code names and lack the curbs or common decency.
I have wearied of hearing about McCain's POW experience as a sympathy card. The demonizing of everything from "big oil", the medical profession, car companies, every country in the world (including the U.S.A.), middle class, upper class, every class.....Let's just say I'm weary that through all of these hundreds of posting there is no hope for the future, no plan and no defendable position.
It's time we step back and bring some order to this thread. If you think something is broken, doesn't it figure that you need to propose a better way or point out the better way proposed by the candidate or party of your choice. Telling the other side what dumbasses they are didn't take one step toward the cure.I may not always be right but I'm never wrong

along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.
As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General.
As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a Big
Top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back
Home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going
to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that
are fighting for the freedom that they are providing for you.
I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to
know what kind of caliber of person he really is.

I guess maybe I fit an "independent" label if a gun was put to my head and I had to choose. I do find it increasingly difficult to know what to say to my nieces and nephews as they are approaching voting age. They ask, how do they know who the best candidate is..all I want to say is "pick the lesser of the evils". Instead, I say, "do your own research and decide for yourself". As Heywood would say, "think" or "read a book"!!! I have come to believe a politian's voting record is of utmost importance. I am an "action speaks louder than words" person.
